Manhole / Shaft Ladders
About Manhole / Shaft Ladders
Choose the right material for your Krause manhole ladder
The choice between galvanised steel, stainless steel or GRP comes down to numerous factors. The most cost effective material is galvanised steel which is stocked here in the UK. Stainless steel is more expensive but is more suitable for scenarios where the ladder is permanently damp or submerged. Finally, we can manufacture GRP on request, this is more suitable for environments with chemical exposure, electrical hazards or risk of explosion.
Ladder Standards
Ladders that are manufactured to EN 14396 should be the only type of ladder installed as a manhole ladder.
Widths and Options
Krause manhole ladders come in 300 or 400mm internal widths (400mm stocked in UK) The right choice is depending on the space allowed, however, we would always recommend the 400mm width for a more comfortable climb.
Additionally, we have retractable handrails in stock that we would recommend for a safer entry/exit from the manhole ladder.
